One Deck Galaxy serves as a strategic sci-fi adaptation of the acclaimed roguelike deck-building game, One Deck Dungeon, from Asmadi Games and Handelabra Games. It invites players to utilize dice in their quest to expand a fledgling civilization into a vast Federation spanning numerous star systems.

The gameplay revolves around constructing civilizations by combining a Homeworld and a Society, each possessing unique attributes. Homeworlds—such as Elemens, Felisi, Plumplim, Timtillawinks, and Zibzab—offer distinct abilities, starting technologies, and milestones. Societies—Botanists, Explorers, Guardians, Mathematicians, and Scientists—provide special abilities, milestones, and increasingly powerful technologies as players progress.

Core mechanics include establishing colonies for resource accumulation and additional dice, developing technologies that unlock advanced capabilities, studying locations through probes to enhance scientific knowledge, deploying fleets to expand influence across the galaxy, and achieving milestones that mark civilizational growth. Success hinges on strategic dice management; every roll offers utility regardless of outcome, emphasizing tactical decision-making over mere luck.

Throughout each game, players must contend with various Adversaries such as the Neeble-Woober Colony Fleet—sentient cephalopods with an inflated sense of superiority; the Hungry Nebula—a cosmic phenomenon that consumes everything in its vicinity; the Optimization Calibrator—a social media entity that manipulates player choices; the Dark Star Syndicate—scientists questioning galactic norms; and the Preservation Authority—organizations freezing planets for safety.

Balancing civilizational development with direct confrontations against these antagonists requires adaptable strategies tailored to each adversary’s unique rules and powers. The game offers extensive variety through numerous configurations, ensuring that no two playthroughs are identical.

One Deck Galaxy is an officially licensed product based on Asmadi Games’ original concept, presenting a complex blend of strategy, resource management, and thematic depth within a modular sci-fi universe.
